As as an artist painting portraits, I always endeavor to achieve a good likeness. Here you will find a variety of completed portraits of dogs, cats, people and horses. These are achieved using either pastels or charcoal, although I have recently completed my first portrait commission in oils (see below including the customers review).
“I first found Chris online and from our first communication I was confident that he would be able to successfully commission my husbands portrait.
Chris has worked tirelessly to complete the portrait ahead of time , working within a limited time constraint. To say I am extremely pleased with the outcome would be an understatement.
The portrait is a carbon copy of the photo provided, showing excellent skillmanship. Chris is very professional and very pleasant to work with, nothing is too much trouble.
I would not hesitate to recommend Chris to anyone looking for that extra touch and A plus service.”

Painting portraits using pastels is a slightly different process to using other mediums. It tends to be a build up of tones starting with the darkest first, and to achieve the correct colour and balance, colours are layered and mixed on the paper.
Here you can see an example of the picture progressing from start to finish.
